Social Enterprise Day

by | Nov 16, 2023

Thursday 16 November is Social Enterprise Day and at Keegan & Pennykid we are proud to support the country’s vibrant social enterprise community.

Social enterprises are businesses that trade for a social or environmental mission, re-investing their profits to create positive impact for people and planet. There are over 100,000 social enterprises in the UK taking on some of the biggest challenges we face, from homelessness to the climate crisis.

We’ve been advising social enterprises for many years and sponsor both the Scottish and UK Social Enterprise Awards. More recently, we’ve included Social Enterprise within our own supply chain and are an early adopter of the Buy Social Scotland Pledge.

One of the key social enterprises we work with is Social Print & Copy, which provides printing and photocopying technology with transparency, a fair price and creating employability opportunities without barriers.

One of the best ways to support social enterprises is to buy from them – and with the festive season approaching, Social Enterprise Scotland and Social Enterprise UK have put together gift guides full of presents with purpose. Inside you’ll find everything from socks and wreaths to clothing, tea and toys – all sourced from social enterprises set up to make the world a better place. They include gifts which empower workers and support communities, products handmade by people learning new skills to change their lives, and discarded items given new beautiful forms.

You can also check out Social Enterprise UK’s new social enterprise eBay shop where you can get a 10% discount using code SEDAY10.
