Motor Breakdown

Car at side of road broken down

Unlike car insurance, breakdown cover is not a legal necessity, but it can prove invaluable if you ever find yourself with a broken down vehicle or a flat tyre and no way to fix it.

There are normally three levels of cover available which can include:-

1)      Roadside assistance – which will get you back on the road immediately or take you to the nearest garage as long as you are at least .25 of a mile from your home.

2)      Roadside, Recovery, At Home and Onward travel – which means that break-down assistance will also be available if your car won’t start at home. They will also take the vehicle and up to 8 people home or to a single address anywhere else within the UK. It also has the added benefit of a replacement car for up to two days whilst your car is being fixed or overnight accommodation or alternative transport will be provided.

3)      Roadside, Recovery, At Home and Onward travel and European. This provides all of the above cover plus insurers will arrange for your car to be fixed at the roadside or towed to the nearest garage in over 45 European countries.
