About Us

Welcome to Keegan & Pennykid

Keegan & Pennykid was founded in Edinburgh in 1968 and is dedicated to providing its clients with professional and independent insurance advice.  We provide advice across the UK and Northern Ireland, to a broad range of clients including individuals, businesses, charities, voluntary organisations, social enterprises, community interest companies (CICs) and the not for profit sector.

“Insurance is intangible and the Insured only sees the value of the insurance when they have a claim. It is therefore extremely important that a client receives on-going advice ensuring that their insurances are properly arranged providing them with peace of mind that the cover they require will meet their needs.”

June Pennykid
Managing Director

Our involvement with the third sector

With over 40 years’ experience, Keegan & Pennykid are at the forefront of providing independent insurance advice to third sector organisations in the UK. In 1997, we launched “Encompass”, our insurance policy designed specifically for Charities and Voluntary Organisations.

Encompass has since evolved to become one of the UK’s leading insurance schemes for the third sector and is endorsed by SCVO and WCVA. So far, since 1997, we have given back over £2m to the third sector through the provision of Encompass.

Financial Ombudsman Service

Keegan & Pennykid (Insurance Brokers) Ltd is covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service.

This means that if we cannot resolve certain complaints through our own internal complaints procedure, they may be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Their address is:

If you have purchased your policy online and are unhappy with the product or the service you received, you can also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution service to make a complaint at http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. The purpose of this platform is to identify a suitable Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider and we expect that this will be the Financial Ombudsman Service. Please be aware that the Financial Ombudsman Service will only be able to consider your complaint after the insurers have had the opportunity to consider and resolve this.
