Charities - WCVA

Wales Council for Voluntary Action is the umbrella body for the voluntary sector in Wales. Its role is to represent and campaign for voluntary organisations, volunteers and communities in Wales and serve its diverse membership through a collective voice. In this capacity, WCVA acts as a highly effective lobbying organisation to represent the views of its members to both local and central government, the Charity Commission, the EU and other bodies.

WCVA leads the sector in:

• Providing advice, information and training;
• Lobbying decision-makers at all levels;
• Responding positively to new challenges;
• Safeguarding and increasing resources for the sector
  

WCVA also provides high quality information and advice to voluntary organisations, through its enquiry line, publications, Network Wales magazine, current awareness service (available via the WCVA website) conferences and seminars. In addition, WCVA administers a range of grant schemes for the sector.
