Public Liability insurance is available at no cost to Neighbourhood Watch Schemes in Scotland and Northern Ireland which are registered with both their Police Force and Ansvar Insurance Company.

How to Register for Public Liability Cover
To benefit from this facility you only need complete a simple on-line application. It is anticipated that most co-ordinators will have internet access. However where co-ordinators do not and thus cannot register on the ANSVAR website, the police have offered to facilitate access.
Please note, when registering, you will require your Police Force Reference number together with your username and password, which should be obtained from your local Police Force. (For more information on the Police Reference number, username and password required, please see the section below).You can use this same username and password to log back into the system to amend your scheme's details. Police Reference Number, Username and Password
In order to register online for the Neighbourhood Watch Public Liability Scheme you will require a standard username and a standard password, both of which have been issued by Ansvar and which enable all NHW schemes to access the registration system. The username and password should have been made available to your local Police Force. However, in the event that they do not have this information, a representative from the Police Force should contact us on 0131 225 6005 for the required details.
As every Neighbourhood Watch Scheme will be using the same username and password to access the online registration system, the Police Reference Number is used to distinguish one scheme from another. The Police Reference Number is of a format stipulated by your Police Force.
The Renewal of your Public Liability Insurance
Your public liability insurance policy is an annual policy with a renewal date of 12th January. In order to retain cover each year you will have to re-register via our on-line system prior to this date. You will receive an e-mail in advance of the 12th of January each year to remind you to re-register. You will require your username, password and Police Force Reference number to complete the re-registration process.
