We are delighted to announce that, as of April 2017, Keegan & Pennykid Insurance Brokers has given over £2 million to the UK’s Third Sector as a result of our Encompass Insurance Scheme for charities and the not-for profit sector.

The Encompass insurance policy, underwritten by RSA, was developed by us in 1997, in conjunction with the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the umbrella body for Charities in Scotland. Encompass has evolved to become one of the UK’s leading insurance and financial services schemes for the third sector. The scheme is endorsed by SCVO, Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) and the London Voluntary Service Council (LVSC).

Encompass has been specifically designed to meet the individual insurance requirements of charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations of all sizes. The scheme provides an important source of income for SCVO, WCVA and LVSC and has now enabled us to give over £2 million to the Third Sector in the UK.

Ken Pennykid, founder and Managing Director at Keegan & Pennykid said, “2017 is a milestone year for Keegan & Pennykid as it marks the 50th year of the business. To reach this landmark of £2m in our 50th year is a great achievement and one which I’m particularly proud of. Not only have we given peace of mind by providing insurance cover to charities, but we have also been able to put money back into the charity sector, allowing them to best serve the aims of their organisations.”

Ken Pennykid and his wife Elizabeth Pennykid (pictured) both retire from Keegan & Pennykid at the end of April after 50 years in the business. Succeeding Ken as Managing Director will be their daughter, June Pennykid, (also pictured), who joined the company in 2002.
